Michael Jackson – Prescription Medication – The Fears

As the dust settles, and the shocked world comes to terms with the monumental loss to music of Michael Jackson, one can’t help but question: ‘Why’? –

This shy and gentle soul was mismanaged and misinformed by the enclosed circle around him.

His entourage and hangers-on spun a tight web around the star that was impossible to penetrate. The “Vampires” and “Leeches” sucking the energy from him as the eccentric and troubled star struggled to exist within an imperfect world.

Family and friends feared this end for the multi talented ‘king of Pop’ and felt it was not so much a case of how he would die, but when. This was simply an accident that was waiting to happen. His body pumped full of powerful, ill matched drugs.

His fate was sealed by the horrific cocktail of prescription drugs that he filled his body with in a bid to try and find some kind of mental, physical and spiritual balance.

The strugggle with his identity fuelled by his inner demons lead him to drastically change his own image through the powers of extensive plastic surgery. Never seemingly happy with the results, his addictive personality took the procedures way too far.

His face now unrecognisable to that of the cute, young lead singer who performed live with his brothers in the Jackson Five.

His need for further acceptance and recognition saw him go solo. Further alienating him from a normality surrounded by the sanctity of a relatively stable life and the companionship and guidance of his siblings.

His dependency on these drugs was real and very necessary for him to allow him to function within his sad, surreal and unstable world. His life way out of control and his decision making taken out of his hands, whilst he used his tight knit circle as an emotional crutch.

Michael himself feared and accepted that one day he would probably die from the cocktail of drugs that he was taking, which controlled every part of his waking and sleeping day.

His ex-wife, Lisa-Marie Presley stated that this was the real pressure on their 19 month relationship that she could not cope with. She ended their marriage with sadness in her heart with her failure to help Michael kick his drug habit.

She was in “in over her head in trying” to save Jackson “from the inevitable”. – As she spoke with Michael of her father’s death (Elvis Presley), he said: “I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did”.

Michael Jackson apparently knew “exactly how his fate would be played out” and feared his death would echo that of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley wrote in her online blog.

On her Myspace page there is this statement:

“I am sitting here watching on the news, as an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears”.

“As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play the exact scenario I saw happen on August 16, 1977, happening again right now with Michael (A sight I never wanted to see again) just as he predicted, I am truly, truly gutted”.

“I wanted to ’save him’,” - “I wanted to save him from the inevitable, which is what has just happened.”

“The hardest decision I have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have him, even though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow”.

“It was an unusual relationship, yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a ‘normal life’ found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part,” she wrote. “Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much.” - Lisa-Marie’s Myspace Blog: http://bit.ly/5wR7p

Elvis Presley died in similar circumstance. His bloated, 42 year old body found slumped in the bathroom of his Graceland Mansion. Cause of death was stated as ‘Irregular heartbeat’, but the sealed autopsy didn’t silence the accusations that the heavy use of prescription drugs was probably the true cause. –

Michael Jackson was on a horrendous cocktail of opposing drugs according to information supplied in the Sun Newspaper.

These drugs are highly powerful and taken on their own they can be potentially dangerous. Taken as a cocktail, it’s a case of ‘Russian Roulette’.

‘The dangerous mix contains painkillers, anti-depressants, muscle relaxants and anti-anxiety tablets. Some can only be administered by medics’.

In retrospect and taken in this fresh context, the lyrics to his 1997 song, ‘Morphine’ from his album ‘Blood on the Line’ are even more poignant and disturbing in the light of his demise.

I think to listen to this track you begin to understand the strong relationship that highly addictive prescription drugs had in Michael Jackson’s life. -

‘Relax This won’t hurt you Before I put it in Close your eyes and count to ten Don’t cry I won’t convert you There’s no need to dismay Close your eyes and drift away’

Doctor Conrad Murray who is reported to have given Jackson the Demoral injection shortly before his death and who was with Jackson when he died, is currently being interviewed by the LAPD.

Whilst they still need to talk to Dr Tohme, who claims he is Jackson’s manager and lifelong friend, he had this to say: “I don’t have anything to do with his. This is B.S. - Why should I talk to police?” When referring to Jackson’s medication and state of health.

The Los Angeles County Coroner conducted an autopsy on Friday and while he said there was “no indication of foul play,” the official cause of death could not be determined.

The Jackson family have now demanded a second autopsy. – This certainly isn’t a cut and dried case by any means, and as the battle for the truth goes on, funeral arrangements are being discussed by the Jackson family, for the king of pop’s final resting place.

With the death of Michael Jackson, the world has been cruelly robbed of a great entertainer who fell foul to the hideous addiction of prescription drugs, and in his search for some kind of inner peace and normality in an otherwise distorted world, he sadly, found it impossible to function without them. -

What I find so shocking about the list of drugs that he was taking is the instructions/side effects of the two at the end. The other six are all pretty powerful and potentially dangerous drugs, but combined with the final two it really was a recipe for disaster!

Demerol which puts pressure on the heart and makes it difficult to breath, and Zoloft which isn’t supposed to be taken with any other anti-depressants. There are several anti-depressants that he was taking in the mix, and that alone must have been an incredibly dangerous thing to do. On top of that though there are several dangerous and addictive painkillers, and a number of other drugs on top of that also.

I’m not surprised that those around him saw this as a disaster waiting to happen. With the drugs that he was on, something like this was always going to happen sooner or later. It was inevitable.

I didn’t realise he had a song called ‘Morphine’, the lyrics are quite disturbing though. He was well aware of the risk he was running in taking all of these drugs, and knew himself that it was only a matter of time before he met his end. It’s quite upsetting that someone would go through life relying on all of these drugs, knowing that the drugs would ultimately kill them.

Absolutely brilliant article from you here as always. So packed full of information, and so interesting too. You really are an amazingly talented writer. Your last two article about Michael Jackson have both been absolutely brilliant, so much work has obviously gone into this one though, and you’ve clearly put a lot of time and effort into putting the article together. I’m proud of you.

Michael Jackson was a very brilliant and humble man. His ability to decieve all that loved him was his only down fall. But as a person who has been there I know that being alone is also a medication for the lonely, he kept all his feelings inside for he knew that we loved him for who he was NOT WHAT HE WAS! It hurts my heart to know that he was not the person we saw and loved but someone totally different. We all paint a perfect picture for others to see in fear of being rejected and labeled as a fake. He was what he saw in his mirror not what we saw and that was what killed him.

This is what kills alot of people fear of being alone and alone is where we all end up thus for we die alone. I still just cannot believe that no one interviened to help him no matter what he said or did but i believe that it was hard to see him even for his family they didnt have a clue as to where to start to look. He is still touching my heart even in his death. I know he lay many nights cuddling his aches and pains that laid heavy in bed with him at night. Crying himself into a medicated sleep where he thought he was in a safe place probably praying every night that he would not awake in the morning. RIP Michael and may God have mercy on your lonley Soul.
