He has already spent one year in custody which will be taken into consideration. Though his sentence is indefinite it is recommended that he serve a minimum of 8 years.

Warboys attractive girlfriend, Kathy Martin, was at the court today to hear the result. She appeared to be in a state of shock at the revelations of the sordid double life which her boyfriend had been leading.

Throughout the duration of his trial, right up until the end, the deluded Worboys, who is said to have OCD, denied all the offences relating to his many crimes.

Worboys scoured the streets of London and Bournemouth by night, looking for vulnerable, professional, female victims, which he then plied with champagne in the back of his cab, saying he had just won the lottery.

The drink was spiked with a potent cocktail of prescription drug and an over the counter medicine. This concoction incapacitated his victims so he was able to rape and sexually assault them leaving them with very little, if any memory of what had occurred.

He would target women who appeared to be drunk and also women who hadn’t enough money to pay the taxi fare. He would tell them that all he wanted to do was to make sure they got home safe and sound.

On the face of it, it would appear highly unlikely that Worboys would secure early release at any point in the near future.

The judge has ordered that all monies earned from his taxi driving business and the sale of his £5, 000 black cab to be distributed amongst his 12 victims.

In summing up, the judge said to Worboys: “You developed and perfected a web of deceit that was sufficient to ensnare young, intelligent and sensible women who had enjoyed a night out and whose only mistake, as it turned out, was to get into your cab late at night.”

He said: “Drivers of licensed black cabs in London have a worldwide reputation not only for the reliability of their driving but for their professional trustworthiness. As somebody with an enduring and powerful interest in sexual matters you saw an opportunity through cab driving. You exploited that trust and, through the use of alcohol and drugs, you sexually abused young women who had trusted you to take them home safely late at night as it was your duty in the circumstances to do.

Police have said that many more women have come forward during the last year and they are satisfied that at least 92 women were victims at the hand of predator, Worboys. And they ultimately fear the figure could be as high as 200-300.

Worboys was under suspicion relating to crimes committed back in 2002. 14 women had come forward to complain to the police that they had been sexually assaulted or had experienced an unsettling occurance in a black cab.

The police didn’t pick up on the pattern of the crimes, although by 2006 Worboys was using the same method on all his victims.

There is also the percentage of women who are reluctant to report the crimes of sexual attack and rape, due to their lack of faith in the police system and through feelings of shame of the situation.

The police feel that there may still be many victims who have not come forward as yet and may never reveal their torment at the hands of Worboys.

In the past, Worboys lead a kind of double life. He regularly performed in a ‘Full Monty’ style stripper routine with a few other male friends. He was also a former, amateur, porn actor, whilst insidiously, prowling the streets at night in his black, taxi cab. -
