Chris Brown, 19, pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault and threatening behaviour upon his singer, girlfriend, Rihanna when he appeared in court today.
‘The criminal complaint against Brown states that in an alleged incident in February, Brown “did willfully and unlawfully commit an assault on ROBYN F. by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.”
The second count states that Brown “did willfully and unlawfully threaten to commit a crime which would result in death and great bodily injury to ROBYN F., with the specific intent that the statement be taken as a threat.” The complaint alleges that Rihanna “was reasonably in sustained fear of her safety and the safety of her immediate family.”
Following the heinous domestic assault on singer, Rihanna (Robin Rihanna Fenty), 20, a couple of months ago by singer/songwriter boyfriend, Chris Brown, 19, US radio stations began pulling his tunes left right and centre.
Jay-Z, fuming when he learnt of the assault, said: “He’s a walking dead man” –
Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats when he appeared in court. He was released on bail of $50, 000 to return for sentencing this month.
The attack occurred on February 8th in the early hours of the morning after the couple had attended a Pre-Grammy party.
Brown turned on the 20 year old, Barbados born singer, Rihanna, as they were driving in his rented Lamborghini.
The incident happened when Rihanna read out a lengthy 3 page text that she had found on his phone supposedly from a former girlfriend.
Brown got her in a headlock till she nearly passed out, banged her head hard against the car door, punched her and bit her fingers.
She was covered in bruises, had a split lip, bite marks on her arm and fingers and a badly swollen face with black eyes. Brown also tried to push Rihanna out of the car.
Brown is reported to have said: “You just did the stupidest thing ever” “I’m going to kill you”. “I’m going to beat the shit out of you when we get home” -
The dashboard was splattered with blood and Rihanna needed hospital treatment following the brutal, unprovoked attack upon her.
Chris Brown was then put up as a Nominee for Nickelodeon’s ‘Kid’s Choice Awards’, despite the felony charges lodged against the volatile singer.
He was nominated for favourite male singer and for favourite song with: “Kiss Kiss”, up alongside Rihanna, for “Don’t Stop the Music”, who police concurred, was the victim of, biting, punching and attempted choking by Brown.
Nickelodeon said that “Chris Brown was nominated for his work as a performer, and kids will decide who wins”. A representative from the network confirmed that they had no plans to remove Brown, 19, from the running.
Not a great message to be putting out there to the kids, I don’t think. That it’s OK to beat up on someone as long as they have talent!?! - Not guilty?!? -
If convicted of the charges, the punishment ranges from probation to up to five years in prison. -

Apparently he was 25 minutes late, only stuck around for 15 minutes, gave a weak plea of ‘not guilty’ and then hurried off. Coward. If he’s guilty he should just tell it like it is, hold his hands up and admit that he’s done it; what he’s allegedly done is absolutely disgusting, but to do something like that and not have the balls to own up to it is just absolutely despicable.
Rihanna didn’t turn up in court for the hearing today, I hope she doesn’t back down over this. What Chris Brown is alleged to have done is just absolutely disgusting, and if his plea of not guilty sticks then there’s something seriously wrong with America’s system.

i understand everything you are saying about how that is not good to tell the kids that its ok to beat up on a women even if you do have talent.but the children dont look at chris like that.they look at him as a cute male singer and songer writer.but i do understand that that was wrong for chris beating up rihanana but dont take away his privillages.he said sorry to her,begged her to take him back and she did so she obviously still wants to be with him.he is also going to jail from what i heard through the great vine .is’nt that even punishment?love always taylar
It sounds to me that Rihanna was jealous of one of Chris ex-girlfriend and possibly attacked him while he was driving and by defending himself she got hurt. That is so typical but from some reason people always want to make the other person the victum because they obtained bruises when they were in a rage.
I think all of you should just shutup god leave him alone its many other people in this world getting beat up on everday i don’t see them in the talboids just because he famous he just has to do jail time not saying that people who are famous are above the law but so what god just shutup i bet somebody right no getting smacked around say something bout them dang give him some space he needs his privacy It sounds to me that Rihanna was jealous of one of Chris ex-girlfriend she threw tha first lick at him while he was driving and by defending himself she got hurt. It was really unfair of him he gave her a brutal beating although he was provoked he should not have been had on her but all thesame they should come back together and make bygones be bygones and any of you dat took the case if there is anyway you can withdraw the case pls do so.

and at the same time, he was just tring to have a good time while he was out . then on top of that he had no business hitting on her but some females these days really to keep there mouthes shut at times then they wont wonder why they ge beat on so much. oh and i think that he is a real good person. he just has a bit of a anger issue.
