Breaking News: Tsunami Alert/Warning for South Pacific Area near Fiji, Samoa and Tonga after Earthquake Measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale
A possible Tsunami warning was in effect and has been issued for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga after a major earthquake measuring 7.9 in magnitude occurred. The earthquake was recorded off Nuku’alofa, Tonga, about 130 miles south-east.
The U.S. National Weather Service’s Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said on Thursday. “An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami”.
It was stated that the quake happened at a depth of 6.2 miles, at 18.18 GMT, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
It is always the policy to err on the side of caution when there may be a possible threat of Tsunami. It has now gone from a possible warning to a probable one.

This wave has the potential to hit the coastlines along the South Pacific. Luckily, at the moment the tsunami wave is only 4 inches high and it is not expected to do any damage.
A little later the tsunami warning was in fact, cancelled, though experts are now concerned, and keeping their eye on, a huge volcano which has erupted, also in the waters near Tonga.
This area of water is a hotbed of seismic activity and at the moment a massive underwater volcano is shooting ash, smoke and steam thousands of feet, high into the sky.
There are 36 underwater volcano’s in this stretch of water, known as the infamous ‘Ring of Fire’, and this active one is a spectacular sight with smoke billowing way across the ocean sea-scape. -

Breaking News – The Trial Result - Monster Josef Fritzl Found Guilty of Murder by Negligence and Guilty on all Counts. Held Daughter as Sex-Slave and 3 children Prisoner for 24 Years

- Today Josef Fritzl has been found guilty of ‘Murder by Negligence’. -
He has also been found guilty on all charges lodged against him, consisting of: Rape, incest, false imprisonment, Coercion, slavery, and murder.
He is to serve life in a psychiatric hospital where his psychopathic condition will be monitored, evaluated and treated to the end of his days.
He will be held in St Poelten Prison whilst his sentence is formalised. His lawyer has 3 days to appeal, though that is unlikely, and then Fritzl will be sent to a co-ordination Centre in Vienna on Tuesday, where he will be evaluated.
Then the appropriate Hospital will be chosen where he will serve his sentence. This could be a Hospital unit within a prison block as he has been found to be criminally responsible. It all depends on the results from tests at the Centre.
The judge asked Fritzl if he had anything to say, Fritzl replied that he hoped for “Understanding and Forgiveness”
In a shock turnaround yesterday, Josef Fritzl, 73, of Amstetten, Austria, pleaded guilty to the charge of murder.
These are charges that relate to the imprisonment of his daughter, Elizabeth and 3 of her children in a cellar in his house, for 24 years.
He had originally pleaded guilty to the charges lodged against him, all, but the charge of murder.
His daughter Elizabeth attended court whilst her video was played throughout the day. Waiting for some kind of sign of remorse shown from her father.
After watching his daughter, Elizabeth’s damning video evidence yesterday, Fritzl realised just how wrong he had been. He said: “It was very emotional for me to watch her evidence”.
He turned up at court yesterday with the shock announcement. -
This morning, the judge asked if there was anything Fritzl wanted to say. Fritzl said yes. I am guilty. Guilty on all counts. Guilty of murder.
“It happened by accident”, he said, “I hadn’t planned it”. “I realise how cruel I’ve been”. “I’m guilty on all points”, he said.
He went on to say how he should have sought medical help after one of Elizabeth’s twin boy’s became distressed and had trouble with breathing 3 day’s after birth.
He blamed his mother’s cruelty on the way he is , saying, she formed the man he is today. His need to be powerful, to dominate and suppress others, was history repeating itself.–
Fritzl has been on suicide watch since the beginning of the trial, his behaviour erratic and strange.
It was said that Fritzl’s relationship with his daughter Elizabeth was the single most important relationship in his life.
He fathered 7 children with his daughter after imprisoning her and repeatedly raping her in a cellar beneath his home.
The psychiatrist giving opinion today said that Fritzl had two opposing personalities, “Like the devil and the angel, and always the devil would win”.
She went on to say that Fritzl was akin to an “emotional volcano”. That he would definitely offend again, he simply couldn’t stop himself.
Elizabeth bore her father 7 children in all. One died three days after birth after developing breathing difficulties, and the 3 other children were allowed to stay in the cellar with her.
The three other children were raised by his wife Rosemarie and Fritzl in their upstairs home. Fritzl told his wife that they were orphan children that had been left outside their home.
Quite often Fritzl did not deliver food to Elizabeth and her children and they went for days on end starving and in the dark, as he would deprive them of light as an added punishment.
He told his wife and neighbours that Elizabeth had run away and joined a religious cult. He warned his daughter if she ever cried out, or tried to escape, he would gas them all.
A convicted rapist in 1967, Fritzl is said to have struggled with thoughts of rape, saying “I was born to rape” and by locking up his daughter he was containing his evil side to within the house. To him it seemed rational.
Fritzl has been diagnosed as having a severe sexual disorder along with a severe combined personality disorder. The forensic psychiatrist recommended that Joseph Fritzl receive psychiatric care for the rest of his days.
His daughter Elizabeth will probably suffer from trauma, brought on by her experience for the rest of her life. All 3 children brought up in the cellar are receiving ongoing psychiatric treatment.
They made up their own way of communicating with each other whilst locked in the cellar. They spoke in growls and grunts much like an animal and the boy still walks with a stoop, as he was taller then the restricted height of the cellar.
He took to crawling on all fours and regressed to animal state. The crimes against these children are abominable, and how they progress into normal life only time will tell.
The lack of oxygen in the dungeon was lethal and daughter Kerstin remains in hospital in a drug induced coma, suffering from the severe effects of oxygen deprivation.
It was her admission to hospital in 2008, that ultimately led to Fritzl’s downfall and the reign of the Monster, Fritzl was brought to an end.
Justice has been served, and Josef Fritzl will now be looking at spending the rest of his days locked away.
This latest moment of truth may be of some recompense to Elizabeth, who will probably spend the rest of her days reliving in her mind, the trauma of her father’s unforgivable crimes against her.
He has also taken 3 of her children away from her. A heartbreaking event for any mother. The children now think of Fritzl’s wife as their mother as that is all they have known.
Their lives will be affected too. The confusion and realisation of the truth will surely affect their mental state also.
There are so many implications to consider. This man has totally ruined her life on many counts. How do you begin to deal and come to terms with all these issues?
The crimes of Monster Fritzel were also against 3 of his grandchildren, who are totally traumatised by their experience and they too are receiving ongoing psychiatric care.
Elizabeth is now 42. Her father has stolen most of her adult life. How she transitions back into everyday life only time will tell.
Fritzl took lodgers into his home from time to time and he told one of them: “One day this house will go down in history” “You will be famous”.
Fritzl also laughed and joked with him about locking his family away. The lodger thought at the time this was a strange thing to say.
In retrospect, he now understands that he was dropping some kind of clue. A form of boasting.
The lodger also overheard a row that Fritzl had with his wife one day, in which he said to her: “Do as I say, or I will gas you all”.
Judging by these comments, there is no empathy here, no remorse and absolutely no moral conscience. Just a sick mind with one goal; power, by any means. -
