Latest News – Jade Goody and Sons Christening at the Royal Marsden Hospital Chapel
- Latest News – Jade Goody and Sons Christening Royal Marsden Hospital Chapel -
In the first news for days now, it has been announced that the christening of Jade Goody, 27, Bobby Goody, 5, and Freddie Goody, 4, will take place today, in line with Jade’s final wish.
The Christening Ceremony will be held at the chapel of the Royal Marsden Hospital on 7/03 at 12.00 GMT, with close friends and family attending.
‘The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Fulham Road, London was the first dedicated cancer hospital in the world. Today it remains a world leader, dedicated to excellence in cancer care’.
Jade will be wheeled into the chapel in her hospital bed as she is too frail to walk. The strong drugs and insidious cancer draining the life from her body.
She had been hoping to have the ceremony at the same church that she was married to Jack Tweed in, just a few short weeks ago, in Harlow Essex.
But unfortunately this no longer possible as Jade’s health has been deteriorating rapidly since then.
After the wedding, and spending a week resting, Jade was taken to St. Claires Hospice for the weekend to alter her medication as she was suffering frightening hallucinations as a side effect.
Whilst there Jade experienced severe stomach pains and had to be rushed to the Royal Marsden. Who after monitoring her, then referred her to the Chelsea Westminster hospital for further tests.
She was then taken back to the Royal Marsden Hospital following her operation on Monday to relieve the pressure in her bowel.
Jade had a one hour operation to remove the pressure blockage, during which she needed 4 pints of blood.
She was kept heavily sedated whilst her body recovered and the following day she drifted in and out of consciousness.
She remains heavily sedated and very poorly whilst the hospital decides what the next best step is for Jade’s seriously deteriorating condition.
Jade has been taking solace from the Bible, having faith that this last act of christening will cement the spiritual closeness between herself and her sons.
Jade can only receive visitors for minutes at a time and her mother, Jacqui, feels her daughter is very close to the end now.
Jade has been told that the cancer is travelling freely in her bloodstream and it has now reached her brain. It is usual to experience severe headaches, fits, nausea and vomiting in this, the final stages of her illness. -

I’m glad she’s getting the christening that she wanted for herself and her children. It doesn’t sound as though she’s in a very good way at all at the moment though; it doesn’t look likely that they’ll ever stop sedating her now. It’s terrible the pain she must be going through. Truly horrible.
As always your writing is excellent here, and once again you’ve provided a fantastic article detailing the ongoing situation with Jade Goody. Your articles are always so well written, and I’m pleased that you’re continuing to report on Jade’s plans and keeping all informed and updated as and when new information becomes available.
I hadn’t heard of Jane Goody until I began reading your blog. What an interesting woman, to say the least.
Isn’t she? Her spirit is amazing. It’s a very sad case too.
Thank you for checking out my blog : )
