Miracle Pool Toddler Defies all Odds and Survives under Water for almost 20 Minutes – Water Baby Lives to Tell the Tale – Life suspended in icy Water of swimming pool
Little three years old, Oluchi Nwaubani is a modern day miracle. The child went missing whilst playing at a friend’s house in Bromley, Kent, UK.
After a search of the house the toddler was eventually found around 20 minutes later, beneath the icy water in the family’s swimming pool. The child was quickly dragged from the pool and was found to be unconscious.
After being rushed to hospital where tests were carried out, the Doctors found that the small child had in fact been under water and starved of oxygen for eighteen minutes but miraculously was still alive.
The Doctor explained that because of the temperature of the icy water the body has a greater chance of recovery when it experiences cardiac arrest.
He warned the parents that things were looking very bad and gave the small child 2% chance of survival as she had been under the water for so long.
Her mother said I understood what he was saying to me, medically and scientifically. But we are Christians and we have complete faith in God to take care of our baby. “He will do the impossible”.
After 3 months in hospital, the child has now made a full recovery and is back at home. Though she is still a little unsteady on her feet and has problems with her balance and speech.
Considering what she has been through and against all odds, it is an absolute miracle that she is actually still alive. A miracle indeed!
The current world record for holding breath under water is held by Arvydas Gaiciunas from Lithuania. He did so at the bottom of an amusement park swimming pool for 15 minutes and 58 seconds. His sister Diana stayed down for 11 minutes, 7 seconds.
Starved of oxygen for eighteen minutes and given just a 2% chance of survival! It really is quite astonishing that the girl is still alive. You wouldn’t think it would be possible!
It’s incredible really, it’s definitely good that she’s back at home now, and I’m not surprised she’s a little unsteady on her feet after that!

Somebody call Maury Povich. The baby daddy is obviously Aqua Man, and he’s going to need to kick down some child support after the paternity test proves it. Of course, he’ll be paying it in sea monkeys which have a surprisingly good exchange rate what with our current economic crisis.
